Committed to Working Families

Growing up in a proud middle-class family, Bob fights to make life more affordable for working families. He has worked to eliminate the grocery tax, ban hidden “junk fees” on goods and services, lower healthcare costs by fighting against price-gouging on essential medicines, rein in high property taxes by delivering record funding for local schools and communities, and support a new child tax credit to assist families struggling with rising costs while raising young children.

Protecting Your Right to Health Care & Reproductive Care

Bob believes in access to health care for all residents. He has fought against health insurance companies that artificially raise rates to boost their profits and junk health insurance plans that offer little to no medical coverage.

Bob is dedicated to protecting women’s access to health care and reproductive care. He has supported the expanded access to emergency contraception, fought against deceptive practices that steered women away from critical health care, and safeguarded healthcare providers and patients from legal attacks by other states who have rolled back women’s reproductive care.

Standing Up to the Gun Lobby

Bob in standing up to the gun lobby and supports common sense gun safety protections to save lives. As a responsible advocate, Bob has consistently supported crucial measures such as implementing background checks on gun buyers, requiring secure firearm storage, banning military-style assault weapons, and cracking down on “ghost guns” and the flow of weapons to Illinois from neighboring states.

Fighting For New Jobs

Bob strongly supports the creation of new high-wage jobs in our communities. He is a staunch advocate for the Rebuild Illinois program, which is investing a substantial $45 billion in infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, railroads, universities, early childhood centers, and other facilities. This initiative is expected to create and support an impressive 540,000 jobs.

Ensuring Access to Education

As a passionate advocate for education, Bob has been instrumental in securing vital funding for educational opportunities. Bob has championed the full funding of Smart Start Illinois to expand access to high-quality preschool education, strengthened K-12 public schools by securing $350 million in new state funding, and secured $575 million in funding for improvements at state universities and community colleges.
